Stoudt makes verbal commitment to Ole Miss

Former junior college star Randall Mackey is projected to be the Ole Miss Rebels’ starting quarterback next fall.

But some competition is on the way.

The Rebels received a verbal commitment on Monday from Iowa Western Community College quarterback Zack Stoudt, who is considered one of the premier JUCO quarterbacks in the country.

Junior college players who transfer in the middle of the school year can begin to sign national letter of intents on Wednesday.

“It came down to the opportunity to play in the SEC,” Stoudt told Neal McCready of Rivals.com.

Ole Miss went 4-8 last season, its first losing season in three years under coach Houston Nutt.
