Taylor takes home county (Updated 9:40 p.m.)

November 2, 2010

With all precincts reporting, Rep. Gene Taylor took his home county by about 1,200 votes in a 4th Congressional District race too close to call.

Taylor won the county with 6,434 votes to Republican challenger Steven Palazzo's 5,244 votes.

But there are between 500 and 600 absentee and affadavit ballots that still must be counted on Wednesday.

In the Chancery Court race, Jennifer Schloegel won with 5,500 votes, followed by William Tisdale with 2,178 votes, Robert Harenski with 1,162, Dara Skinner with 907 and Fran Yeatts with 385 votes.
