Garcia defeats Longo in Waveland mayor primary

Waveland Mayor Tommy Longo on Tuesday lost his chance to lead the city for another four years.

Waveland fire chief David Garcia won the Democratic primary by a wide margin. He'll face Republican Robert Hincks on Dec. 7.

In unofficial results, Garcia garnered 1,242 votes to Longo's 240.

Hincks was unopposed in the Republican primary.
