Tornado watch issued; Hancock, Pearl River on alert

The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch today until 10 p.m. for southwest Mississippi.

A tornado watch means conditions exist that could produce tornadoes in the area.

The counties under tornado watch include Hancock and Pearl River in South Mississippi.

Also under the watch are Adams, Copiah, Lamar, Marion, Simpson, Amite, Claiborne, Covington, Franklin, Jefferson, Jefferson Davis, Lawrence, Lincoln and Pike counties.
