GULFPORT — A 17-year-old has been charged with aggravated assault after a shooting on Halloween night, police said.

Police said that about 9:40 p.m. Saturday they received a call of a shooting at an address in the 1000 block of W. Birch Drive, in a neighborhood north of Dedeaux Road. When they arrived, they found the victim, whom police didn’t identify, had been shot in the arm. He was treated and released from a local hospital.

Investigators obtained a warrant for Decedreious Cleveland, of Country Hills Drive in Gulfport, whom police said witnesses identified as the shooter. Cleveland was arrested Sunday without incident at his home and taken to the Harrison County jail. Police said Cleveland had been out on bond after being charged with burglary earlier this month.

Justice Court Judge Melvin Ray set Cleveland’s bond in the shooting at $100,000.
