HARRISON COUNTY — Investigation of alleged meth manufacturing at two different rural homes has led to arrests, including charges accusing one man of receiving stolen property.
Narcotics officers on Friday found a stolen motorcycle and two other stolen vehicles at the home of Neil Leroy Moran while executing a search warrant in a meth-manufacturing case, Sheriff Melvin Brisolara said.
Officers went to Moran’s home on Bell Creek Road with a search warrant and apprehended him after a short foot chase, the sheriff said. Officers obtained the search warrant after confirming Moran previously had an active meth lab at his residence.
Bell Creek Road has a Perkinston address but is in Harrison County. Moran, 26, lives in the 19500 block of Bell Creek. Justice Court Judge Gene Dedeaux set felony bonds totalling $65,000.
A man at Moran’s home allegedly was found in possession of a small amount of meth. Officers arrested Paul Henry Ladner, 46, on a meth-possession charge. Ladner, of Standard Dedeaux Road in Kiln, was held on $15,000 bond.
In an unrelated case, officers arrested two Saucier men Saturday morning on allegations of manufacturing meth at the home of an acquaintance.
Arrested were James Nathen Johnson, 34, of Longwood Drive, and Calvin Lee Tedder, 29, of Ramsey Lane. They were arrested at a residence in the 23600 block of Saucier Lizana Road.
Investigators said they determined the resident was unaware that the men were making meth there,
Johnson and Tedder each were held at the county jail on bonds of $100,000 each.
