A project that began Monday and will continue until 5 p.m. Nov. 27 will have CSX Railroad closing four railroad crossings within Pascagoula at Pascagoula Street, Market Street, Chicot Street and Industrial Road. These railroad closures have been scheduled and are being managed by CSX to allow their contractors to refurbish the crossings with the installation of new cross ties, ground work, and paving of the road for vehicle traffic. Over the next two weeks motorist should follow marked detour routs or plan to use Magnolia Street, Hospital Road, or the 14th Street Overpass, which will remain open. Motorists should also use caution while driving as increased traffic flow is expected along these routes.
