Hancock citizens advised to take precautions

Hancock County Emergency Management officials are advising all residents who live in low-lying areas of the county to take precautions against the possiblity of rising water in those areas due to Tropical Storm Ida.

Anyone needing assistance to leave flooded areas, or if they need a place to take shelter, are asked to call (228) 466-8320. Assistance will be provided.

The Hancock Emergency Management Agency will be operating on a 24-house basis until further notice.
