Former youth coach pleads guilty to child pornography charges

Scott Yancey of Long Beach pleaded guilty this afternoon in federal court to receiving and possessing child pornography.

Yancey, 38, is a former volunteer youth coach with the Long Beach Recreation League and former police officer for Gulf Shores, Ala.

It is his second child pornography conviction since 1998.

U.S. District Judge Walter J. Gex III set sentencing for Feb. 10, 2010. Yancey faces 15 to 40 years in prison. He also awaits trial in state court on molestation charges involving three minor boys.
