Jackson County deputies make pot bust in Gulf Hills

Jackson County Sheriff's investigators and the Narcotics Task Force, acting on a tip that there was drug activity at a home in Gulf Hills, searched the house Tuesday night and found an assortment of packages of marijuana, including bricks, individually wrapped brownies in the freezer and 40 sandwich bags containing 1/4 to 1/2 ounces of marijuana each.

They arrested Jerry Wayne Witham, 62, who owned the home, Sheriff Mike Byrd said this morning.

His son, Morgan Wayne Witham, 27, fled but turned himself in to law enforcement on Wednesday.
