Hancock County officials plan to hold a press conference at 10:30 a.m. today in connection with the death of Nicholas Clay Patterson, 22, who was found dead in his car Friday.

It is believed that Hancock officials have a suspect in the case, but Hancock investigators would only confirm that a press conference would be held.

Hancock County sheriff’s investigators said Saturday they had several suspects but had made no arrests in the killing of Patterson, whose identity was released Saturday morning following an autopsy. He was found by friends on Friday night in the back seat of a car after he failed to return from a trip to the store.

The autopsy performed by Dr. Paul McGarry with the state crime lab found that Patterson died from a gunshot, said John Bunce, lead investigator on the case.
