BILOXI -- Sea Wolves goaltender Riku Helenius was called from the Norfolk Admirals of the AHL to the NHL's Tampa Bay Lightning, the team announced today.

Helenius began the week with the Mississippi Sea Wolves, traveling with the team to Johnstown, Penn., before being recalled to the Admirals.

Helenius, a 6-foot-3, 202-pound goaltender from Palkane, Finland, did not appear in a game with the Sea Wolves after being assigned to Mississippi last week. In 11 ECHL games this season, Helenius is 4-5-2 with a 3.80 GAA and .896 save percentage.

He has gone 1-1-1 in three games with the Sea Wolves, posting a 3.53 GAA and .944 save percentage. The 20-year-old went 3-4-1 in his first eight games of North American professional hockey with the Augusta Lynx this season, recording a win in his North American pro debut, stopping 44 of 46 shots on October 21 at Gwinnett.

In one game with Norfolk, against Worcester, he stopped 11 of 12 shots without receiving a decision. Helenius was 1-1-0 in two preseason games for the Admirals with a 4.00 goals-against average and .840 save percentage.
