So many things to do this weekend, so little time.

Saturday shaped up to be one of the busiest on the calendar, between Jonestoberfest, church festivals, the Coast Cleanup, college football and, of course, my beloved Red Sox in the American League Championship Series.

How is one to choose just a few to get involved in?

Well, one could always bow to familial or peer pressure; stay home and not get involved at all; or try to do everything.

I decided to lead with my heart. Still, it makes for a busy day from sunup to way past sundown.

We planned to start our day at St. Thomas Fall Festival, working a booth and enjoying the food, games, music and entertainment of the day.

Then it was off to a special little 1-year-old's birthday party. Tabitha might not remember we were there but we would, so that was a crucial part of the agenda.

Of course, with my husband's new electronic toy, we could keep up with the Rebels' quest to pull off a win in T-town on Saturday afternoon while we were at the festival and the birthday party.

A friend of mine and fellow Ole Miss alum was torn between driving to Alabama for the game and staying home for the festival. He was still debating the last time I saw him Friday night.

My hope was that when we hit Mike Ryan's HSSM fundraiser Saturday night, someone would have pity on my and let me peek at the game from time to time on the TV.

The common thread in all of this, of course, is spending time with friends and family - and having a beautiful day to spend it in. That's one of the reasons this weekend is so busy - it's the perfect time of year to be outside.

Of course, today will be more of the same, with festivals, football and (hopefully) some more baseball.

Whatever you're doing this weekend, I hope you get to spend it doing what you enjoy - and doing it with someone special.
