The cooler weather that blew in this weekend, combined with a recent trip to the northeast, has me getting in the spirit of fall.
First, there are the temperatures that invite you to open the windows and bring a little bit of the outdoors inside.
If you’re lucky you can see some leaves changing color here. The most brilliant colors are reserved for the northern climes. And while New England may be the best known for its “color” season, the Midwest and the mountains of Wyoming and Montana have their own palettes.
Second, the cooler temperatures, especially this month, bring to mind that Halloween is just a week or so away — with Thanksgiving and Christmas not far behind.
But Halloween is the day that I love because it’s for the kids. The little ones are just adorable in their costumes and the older kids can be very creative in dreaming up what they want to be.
Even us older “kids” enjoy a good costume party! Last year, I was a bar wench and Tom was a vampire.
In Your Life today, there are several kids dressed up in Halloween costumes who remind us that they can be so cute sometimes! So we’d like to invite you to show us your kids (or even yourself!) dressed up for All Hallows’ Eve.
You can upload the photos to our Web site and we will create a gallery so everyone can see it. We may even feature a few in the Sun Herald. But to do that, you have to send us your photos.
It’s pretty simple, really. Just register at sunherald.com (it’s free and takes just a moment or two) and then on the home page, go under the “multimedia” button to “Upload photos.” Make sure your picture is a JPEG and fill in the blanks. You’ll have your photos online in no time!
To make it a little easier, we’ve added a link to the upload form to this column so all you have to do is make sure you’re logged into sunherald.com and click on the link.
We look forward to seeing your ghosts and goblins! Happy Halloween!
