BAY ST. LOUIS -- A Hancock County Circuit Court jury deliberated 35 minutes this afternoon before exonerating a mother of three who was charged with possession by deputies after they discovered 37 pounds of marijuana in her home.

Raquel Welch, 40, of the Kiln, was charged on Nov. 25, 2007, with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.

Welch's attorney, Brian Alexander, had argued to jurors that the marijuana had been left at the house by a boyfriend of Welch's without her knowledge.
